In this lecture, we will review the epidemiology of alcohol use in the US, chronic health problems related to alcohol use, and FDA-approved medications for alcohol dependency (Disulfiram, Oral naltrexone, injectable sustained release naltrexone, and Acamprosate). We will also review off-label medications used in the treatment of alcohol use disorder, including, Topiramate, Baclofen, Gabapentin, and Ondansetron
